BAPS Hindu Mandir Urges Devotees to Stay Home Due to Heavy Rains in UAE

As heavy rains and thunderstorms loom over the UAE, the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi has issued a plea to its community members, urging them to refrain from visiting the temple on Friday evening and in the following days.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has advised the general public to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary, as the country braces for adverse weather conditions.

In response to the weather forecast, which predicts heavy rainfall across various parts of the emirate, particularly in suburban areas, the BAPS temple in Abu Mureikha, situated off the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway, has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its devotees.

Thousands of visitors and worshippers typically flock to the temple during weekends, seeking solace and spiritual connection. However, considering the potential risks posed by the unstable weather, the temple management has issued a statement urging devotees to avoid traveling to the Mandir.

“In light of the severe weather conditions expected in the coming days and in accordance with advisories from government authorities, we advise all devotees and visitors to refrain from journeying to the Mandir and instead offer their prayers from the safety of their homes,” stated the Mandir spokesperson.

While emphasizing the importance of prioritizing safety, the temple assured the community that the special prayer ceremony and rituals to commemorate the Hindu festival of Mahashivratri would proceed as scheduled within the Mandir premises on Friday. However, devotees are encouraged to participate from the comfort of their homes, refraining from venturing out in adverse weather conditions.

In times of inclement weather, the safety and well-being of devotees take precedence, and the BAPS Hindu Mandir’s decision to discourage temple visits reflects a responsible approach towards ensuring the welfare of its community members.
