Rare Cars and Watches Auction in Dubai Fetches Dh62 Million

In an unprecedented event, RM Sotheby’s is set to host a dazzling auction of some of the globe’s most elusive supercars in Dubai next month. Among the highlights is the exquisite 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic Recreation, a recreation of an iconic pre-war vehicle, expected to fetch between Dh2.57 million to Dh3.3 million. Another standout is the 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie, a masterpiece of engineering with an estimated price tag of $2.9 million to $3.3 million (Dh10.6 million to Dh12.11 million).

With Dubai emerging as a haven for the world’s elite, the demand for ultra-luxury automobiles has surged. The influx of millionaires into the city in 2023 and 2024 has heightened this demand, making the UAE one of the most sought-after markets for luxury cars. Notably, McLaren enthusiasts will have the chance to bid for the 2014 McLaren P1, boasting a striking Mercury over Harissa Red color scheme, valued between Dh2.93 million to Dh3.67 million.

Ferrari aficionados will not be disappointed either, with the 2022 Ferrari 812 Competizione up for grabs. Featuring a powerful V-12 engine, this front-engined marvel is estimated to command a price ranging from Dh4 million to Dh4.77 million. Additionally, the auction will feature the ultra-exclusive 2017 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 Coupé, one of only 20 made to celebrate the centenary of Lamborghini’s founder. With its thunderous 6.5-liter V-12 engine and cutting-edge rear-wheel steering, this automotive gem is anticipated to fetch between Dh7.34 million to Dh9.175 million.

However, the pièce de résistance of the event is undoubtedly the one-of-three Koenigsegg Agera RSR, crafted exclusively for the Japanese market. Boasting a jaw-dropping 1,160 horsepower from its 5.0-liter V-8 engine, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, this supercar is estimated to command an awe-inspiring price of between Dh10.2 million to Dh12.5 million.

As Dubai continues to solidify its status as a playground for the affluent, events like the RM Sotheby’s auction underscore the city’s allure as a hub of opulence and luxury.
