After 71 Countries, UAE Wins Hearts with Warm Hospitality!

Countries

After riding through deserts, mountains, and coastlines in 71 countries, an adventurous couple from Europe says the United Arab Emirates left the most lasting impression—not just for its scenic roads but for its kindness, generosity, and safety.

Meet Ivo and Antonia, a passionate motorbike-loving couple who have spent the past four years traveling the world on two wheels. Their extraordinary journey has taken them across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa. But when they rolled into the UAE, they found something truly special.

“The UAE is a biker’s dream. The landscapes, the roads, and above all, the people—we felt incredibly welcomed,” said Ivo, during a stop in Abu Dhabi.

Why the UAE Stands Out Among 71 Countries

While the couple has marveled at famous highways in the Alps, cruised along the Pacific Coast in the U.S., and crossed the Andes in South America, they say nothing compares to the hospitality and infrastructure they encountered in the UAE.

According to Antonia:

“From the moment we entered the country, people offered help, food, and shelter—even without knowing us. We didn’t expect such kindness from strangers.”

They described one memorable moment in the city of Al Ain, where a family invited them into their home after meeting them at a petrol station.

“They gave us dinner, shared stories, and even offered to wash our riding gear,” Antonia recalled with a smile. “That’s something we’ll never forget.”

Smooth Roads and Stunning Views

From a rider’s point of view, the couple described the UAE’s highways and desert roads as some of the best-maintained they had encountered anywhere. With wide lanes, modern signage, and scenic routes, the UAE quickly climbed to the top of their list for motorbike-friendly countries.

They particularly enjoyed riding through the Hajar Mountains, the coastal highways of Fujairah, and the dramatic desert roads leading to Liwa and Al Dhafra.

“The variation in scenery is amazing,” said Ivo. “In one day, you can ride from beaches to mountains to desert dunes—and it’s all breathtaking.”

He also praised the safety measures, clear speed limits, and well-marked petrol stops, which made the experience smooth and worry-free.

A Place Where Bikers Are Respected

Another standout aspect, they say, is how respectfully bikers are treated on UAE roads. Unlike in some countries where motorcyclists are seen as nuisances or are ignored, in the UAE, the couple experienced courteous drivers, helpful police, and even interest from passersby.

“We were constantly being waved at, greeted with smiles, and asked about our journey,” said Ivo. “That’s not something you see everywhere.”

They were also impressed with the UAE’s growing motorcycle community, including riders’ clubs, off-road groups, and biker-friendly cafés in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Traveling the World on Two Wheels

Ivo and Antonia began their motorbike journey in 2021, after quitting their jobs in corporate management and journalism, respectively. What started as a six-month plan to explore Europe turned into a life-changing mission to explore the world.

Over the last four years, they’ve:

  • Traveled through 71 countries on six continents
  • Clocked over 160,000 kilometers on their twin BMW GS motorbikes
  • Camped in jungles, deserts, and mountains
  • Shared stories through their popular travel blog and social media

“We believe travel opens hearts and minds,” said Antonia. “And traveling by motorbike keeps us connected with the real world around us.”

Kindness Over Luxury

Despite traveling through rich countries and staying in luxurious areas at times, the couple says the most valuable part of their journey has been human connection.

“In the UAE, people offered what they had—even when they had little. That’s the kind of kindness you can’t buy,” said Antonia.

They also visited local souks, traditional villages, and lesser-known cultural spots, avoiding the typical tourist path.

They believe this approach led to a more genuine experience of the UAE’s culture and values.

The UAE’s Support for Travelers

The UAE has been investing heavily in tourism infrastructure, especially for adventurers and long-distance travelers. From camping zones in Ras Al Khaimah to bike-friendly accommodation and smart navigation systems, the couple said the UAE felt like it was built for modern explorers.

The country’s safety, clean public facilities, and easy visa systems also made travel smooth and stress-free.

“We never felt unsafe, even when camping in remote areas,” said Ivo. “The country has found a great balance between tradition and technology.”

What’s Next for the Couple?

After finishing their tour through the Gulf countries, Ivo and Antonia plan to head toward Central Asia, followed by Japan, and eventually Australia.

However, they say they will be back to the UAE someday—and possibly for longer.

“We could live here,” Antonia said. “Not just because it’s beautiful, but because people are good to each other.”

Conclusion

For Ivo and Antonia, two motorbike travelers who have seen nearly every corner of the world, the UAE wasn’t just another country—it was a highlight. With its smooth roads, stunning landscapes, and above all, its kindness, the UAE proved that hospitality can leave a deeper mark than any destination on a map.

As more travelers take to the roads in search of meaning and adventure, the UAE is becoming a top destination for bikers, explorers, and anyone looking to be treated not just as a tourist—but as a welcome guest.
