From Tandem Jumps to Solo Flights: Adham’s Skydiving Journey

At just 16, Adham Biondy took a leap that would change his life forever. In 2020, he experienced his first tandem skydive, an event he recalls as a defining moment. “The second I left that plane, something in me changed,” Adham reflects. “It wasn’t just the adrenaline—it was a feeling of total freedom, clarity, and purpose.” This initial jump ignited a passion that set him on a path to become an integral part of Egypt’s skydiving community.

Adham’s inspiration stems from his father, a USPA Coach Examiner and AFF Instructor who played a pivotal role in developing skydiving in Egypt. Growing up watching his father push limits instilled in Adham the belief that he could do the same. “Being raised around that kind of passion and dedication made the sport feel like home to me,” he shares. “It’s where I truly feel alive and in my element.”

Breaking Barriers: Youngest Skydiver in Egypt

In 2022, Adham seized the opportunity to join Egypt’s first Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course, marking a significant milestone in his skydiving career. This achievement not only made him the youngest skydiver in the country but also deepened his connection to Egypt. “Beyond the title, it gave me the chance to see Egypt from above—from different aircraft and stunning perspectives most people never experience,” Adham says. “It deepened my love for both the sport and my country.”

Overcoming Challenges in a Mature Sport

Entering a sport dominated by older, more experienced individuals posed its challenges. Adham had to prove himself and earn his place among seasoned skydivers. Through focus and dedication, he demonstrated that age is just a number when it comes to passion and commitment. “Starting out, the biggest challenge was proving myself in a sport dominated by older, more experienced skydivers,” he admits. “But with focus and dedication, I earned my place.”

Pursuing Coaching Aspirations

Currently, Adham is working towards earning his USPA coach license, aiming to become the youngest coach in Egypt. This step aligns with his long-term goal of specializing in a skydiving discipline and contributing more to the sport’s growth in the country. “It’s a key step toward my long-term goal of specializing in a skydiving discipline and contributing more to the sport’s growth here,” he explains.

Lessons from the Sky

Skydiving has imparted valuable lessons to Adham, particularly the importance of continuous learning and humility. “The most valuable lesson I’ve learned in skydiving is never to feel like you’re ‘good enough’ or that you know everything,” he emphasizes. “In a sport where precision is critical, that mindset can lead to accidents. Continuous learning and staying humble are essential for safety and growth.”

Inspiring the Next Generation

Adham hopes to leave a lasting impact by inspiring the next generation of skydivers in Egypt, especially young people, to pursue the sport with passion and dedication. “I want to be remembered as someone who helped shape the future of skydiving here as a pioneer,” he states.

Advice to His Younger Self

Reflecting on his journey, Adham offers advice to his younger self: “Stay patient and never rush the process. Trust the training, stay humble, and always keep learning. In skydiving, it’s not just about how fast you progress, but about mastering the fundamentals to stay safe and confident in the sky.”
