The BAPS Hindu Mandir, a remarkable temple constructed from pink sandstones and white marble, is beginning to grace the Abu Dhabi skyline with its presence.
Situated on 27 acres of land in Abu Mureikha, just off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway, this historic temple is set to be unveiled in a grand inauguration on February 14th of the following year.
A Landmark Achievement in the Middle East:

This temple, the first of its kind in the Middle East, is a testament to architectural excellence and spiritual devotion. It stands as the epitome of traditional Hindu stone temple architecture.
Among its many distinctive features, the temple boasts seven magnificent spires, each symbolizing an Emirate of the UAE. These spires serve as a symbol of unity and harmony.
A Hub of Spiritual and Cultural Activities:
The temple complex is a place of worship and a center for various activities. It will include five domes, a visitor’s center, prayer halls, a library, classrooms, a community center, majilis (meeting spaces), a theater, play areas, lush gardens, book and gift shops, a food court, ample parking facilities, and much more.
The Visionaries Behind the Project:
The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha organization is spearheading this monumental project.
Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami, the head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir, oversees the construction of this awe-inspiring temple.
Every detail of the hand-carved temple adheres to the ancient Hindu ‘Shilpa shastras,’ Sanskrit scriptures dedicated to architecture and sculpture.
The intricate carvings not only showcase India’s rich heritage and culture but also incorporate Arab motifs such as horses, camels, and oryx.
Artisans have painstakingly created monumental sculptures that depict pivotal moments from Indian epics like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and other narratives from Hindu scriptures and mythology.
A Symbol of Endurance and Harmony:
Rising to a height of 108 feet, this temple is hailed as a “spiritual oasis for global harmony.” Its construction is designed to endure for over a millennium, offering spiritual solace to future generations.
Festival of Harmony – Marking a Momentous Occasion:
The temple’s doors will open on February 14th, accompanied by a grand ‘Festival of Harmony.’
This event promises to celebrate culture, spirituality, and unity. For more information about the opening ceremony and registration, download the Festival of Harmony app or visit https://festivalofharmony.ae.
