Abu Dhabi Implements Revised Truck Ban Hours for Ramadan Traffic Management

Abu Dhabi, UAE – In preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, the Abu Dhabi Police have announced adjustments to the timing of traffic bans for trucks and heavy vehicles on the emirate’s roads. This alteration aims to optimize traffic flow and ensure road safety during peak hours, particularly for trucks and buses transporting more than 50 workers.

General Mahmoud Youssef Al Balushi, Director of the Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols of the Central Operations Sector, revealed the updated schedule via social media platforms. The revised restrictions will be applicable during the morning and evening rush hours, aligning with Ramadan’s unique traffic patterns.

The revised timings dictate that heavy vehicles will be prohibited from operating on Abu Dhabi roads during the morning peak hours, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, as well as during the evening rush hours, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. These measures are specifically designed to alleviate congestion and enhance road safety during the heightened traffic periods observed during Ramadan.

To enforce these restrictions effectively, traffic patrols will be deployed across all major roads, and traffic control measures will be bolstered through the utilization of smart systems. This proactive approach aims to mitigate potential traffic disruptions and ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the emirate.

This strategic initiative underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to promoting road safety and enhancing the overall commuting experience for residents and visitors during Ramadan. By implementing targeted traffic management measures, authorities seek to minimize congestion and facilitate seamless travel across the emirate’s road network.

As the holy month approaches, residents and motorists are urged to adhere to the revised traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement authorities to ensure a safe and efficient commuting environment for all road users.

The adjustments in truck ban hours reflect Abu Dhabi’s proactive stance in addressing the unique traffic challenges posed by Ramadan. With enhanced enforcement measures and strategic traffic management, authorities aim to uphold the highest standards of road safety and traffic efficiency during this auspicious period.
