Abu Dhabi Entity Aims to Become Global Player in Pre-Hospital Care
Abu Dhabi-based Response Plus Holding (RPM), the largest pre-hospital medical services provider in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, is setting its sights on global expansion, according to its new chairman, Omran Al Khoori.
With a vision aligned to the UAE’s ambition of becoming a leading global healthcare and life sciences hub, RPM is prioritizing initiatives to enter new markets, foster a skilled workforce, and invest in Emirati talent.
The company, boasting the largest medical vehicle fleet in the region and a workforce of 1,600, operates across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, India, and Ethiopia. In 2021, RPM was listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and entered the FTSE Global Micro Cap Index the following year.
Al Khoori highlighted RPM’s strategic focus on becoming a global leader in pre-hospital care through network expansion, strategic partnerships, technological advancements, and a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.
RPM operates 500 clinics serving the oil and gas and industrial sectors, catering to clients such as Adnoc, Schlumberger, and Halliburton. In a significant move, RPM acquired Prometheus Medical, a UK-based healthcare training and consultancy firm, aiming to broaden its services and tap into new markets in the UK and Nordic regions.
Moreover, RPM’s healthcare training centers offer a wide range of medical and non-medical courses, with over 1.2 million training sessions conducted to date. The company also specializes in medical air evacuations, having performed over 10,000 evacuations, including from conflict zones.
In line with the UAE’s Emiratisation drive, RPM achieved its Emiratisation targets last year and is on track to meet its next target by July 2024. The company actively engages Emirati talent through initiatives aligned with national strategies and collaborations with educational institutions like the Fatima College of Health Sciences.
Al Khoori emphasized RPM’s commitment to innovation and technology in healthcare, aiming to break traditional boundaries and embrace new business models driven by emerging technologies. Partnering with various entities, RPM aims to ensure streamlined technological adaptations for efficient patient care delivery.
With a strong focus on expansion, talent development, and technological innovation, RPM is poised to establish itself as a key player in the global pre-hospital care sector.
