Abdullah Bourashed: A Story of Passion, Creativity, and Community

Abdullah Bourashed

In Kuwait’s vibrant creative and fitness scene, Abdullah Bourashed stands out not only as an artist, coach, and founder, but as a man whose life has been shaped by resilience, faith, and the courage to start over. His story is not one of instant success. It is a story of reinvention, discomfort, and choosing purpose over security.

A Defining Moment: From Football to Finding Purpose

From the age of 10 to 18, Abdullah Bourashed played semi-professional football in Kuwait and in Manchester, UK. Football was not just a sport for him, it was his identity. It filled his heart with passion and gave him direction.

But everything changed when he broke his ankle.

That injury marked a turning point. Suddenly, the dream he had built his youth around was no longer possible in the same way. Instead of allowing that loss to define him negatively, Abdullah began searching for something new to fill his heart with the same fire and purpose.

Learning the Value of Earning, Not Inheriting

After football, Abdullah briefly helped in his family business between India and Kuwait. His parents, both entrepreneurs, once owned a salon and wanted him to run it. But he struggled with the idea of managing something that was simply handed to him.

He could not see himself running something that was given and not earned.

So he chose a different path. Instead of taking ownership immediately, he humbled himself and started learning from the senior stylist. Within three months, he was cutting, shaving, and coloring hair himself. That experience changed him deeply.

It taught him that dignity comes from earning your place. It also reshaped how he saw himself. Often labeled the “black sheep” of the family, he now sees that in a positive light. His parents never gave him a silver spoon. They taught him the value of discomfort, hard work, and earned success. Today, he is grateful they did.

Returning Home and Facing Reality

At 20, Abdullah felt a strong calling to move back home to Kuwait and live independently. Inspired by his parents’ journey from having nothing to building a beautiful life, he knew his own success would not come overnight.

He stepped into completely unfamiliar territory by working at the Commercial Bank of Kuwait in a call center for three years. It was far outside his comfort zone, but it built discipline and resilience.

After that, he became a terminal supervisor at Jazeera Airways, handling operations for four years. Though stable and respectable, deep down he knew it was not his true calling. Still, he stayed committed, believing that nothing worth having comes easy.

Eventually, dealing with personal challenges and emotional exhaustion, he made one of the boldest decisions of his life: he quit.

He promised himself he would never again work in something he did not love.

Two Years of Uncertainty and Self-Discovery

What followed was not glamorous.

For two years, Abdullah was jobless.

He did not rely fully on financial support from loved ones. He paid his rent by slowly doing what he loved, music, dancing, creativity, and constantly pushing himself outside his comfort zone. It was hard. There were many difficult days.

But it was worth every single one.

Those years shaped his character. They stripped away ego and built resilience. They forced him to confront fear, doubt, and insecurity, and to keep going anyway.

The Moment That Lit the Fire: LYFE Cycle

While unemployed, Abdullah was reached out to by LYFE Cycle.

What caught his heart was the powerful combination of music and movement. It was everything he loved in one space. More than that, it was the community. It was diverse, energetic, and full of connection.

Before even getting his first opportunity on stage, he trained relentlessly for a year and a half.

When he finally got his first classes, self-doubt hit hard. After the first two sessions, he was on the verge of quitting.

But he told himself something that would define his life:

“I didn’t come this far to quit.”

He stayed.

And he kept showing up.

Today, he describes that decision as one of the best he has ever made. His philosophy is simple and powerful:

Show up.
Good days, bad days.
No matter what.

A Life of Service Through Movement

For Abdullah Bourashed, coaching is not about fitness alone. It is about service.

Through movement, music, vulnerability, and connection, he feels blessed to serve others. Every class is not just a workout. It is an experience of unity, emotion, and growth.

He believes that leadership in fitness is about giving your all to those who trust you to guide them. The most valuable lesson he has learned is to continue showing up, especially on the hard days.

Because this work is about connection.

Expanding Into Art and The Hana Community

Alongside fitness, Abdullah continues to express himself through art and flowers. As the founder of The Hana Community and the creative mind behind Flowers by Hana, he spreads joy and beauty through floral design.

For him, flowers are not just aesthetic. They are emotional. They represent love, support, and presence.

His life today blends movement, creativity, and community building in a way that feels fully aligned with his purpose.

Faith, Patience, and Perspective

If Abdullah could give advice to his younger self, it would be this:

Have patience.
Everything is written in Allah’s hands.
Never rush. Enjoy the journey.

He believes that nothing we go through is beyond our capacity. Growth lives outside the comfort zone, and every challenge is placed for a reason.

His ultimate wish?

That people feel loved and supported around him.

Why His Story Matters

Abdullah Bourashed’s journey is not about instant fame or overnight success. It is about reinvention. It is about earning your place. It is about falling, doubting, struggling, and still choosing to stand back up.

From semi-professional football to banking, from aviation operations to unemployment, from doubt to stage confidence, his life proves that purpose often comes after pain.

His message is clear:

Keep showing up.
Keep stepping out of your comfort zone.
And never give up on finding what sets your heart on fire.

And in doing so, you might just inspire others to do the same.
