I’m sitting here today, still processing everything that’s happened, and I just had to share this with you all. A few days ago, I went through what was honestly one of the scariest experiences of my life – a complex ear surgery at Al-Tarabishi Hospital in Dubai to reconstruct my eardrum and remove something called a cholesteatoma.
I’ll be real with you – I was terrified going in. The whole thing sounded so complicated, and when you hear terms like “high-risk surgery,” your mind just starts racing, you know? But then I met Dr. Moaz, and everything changed.

This man… where do I even begin? He didn’t just talk to me like I was another case on his schedule. He sat down, looked me in the eye, and explained everything in a way that actually made sense. No fancy medical jargon that flies over your head – just honest, clear communication. And the way he reassured me? It was like talking to someone who genuinely cared, not just about fixing my ear, but about me as a person.

The surgery itself was apparently quite the challenge, but Dr. Moaz made it look easy (well, I was asleep, but you get what I mean!). When I woke up and he told me everything went perfectly, I honestly got emotional. This guy had just given me my hearing back.
And can we talk about the staff at Al-Tarabishi Hospital for a second? The nurses who checked on me every hour, the support staff who always had a smile ready – they made what could have been a really stressful hospital stay feel almost… comfortable? If that’s even possible in a hospital.

But what really got me was the response from everyone around me. My family, obviously, were incredible – they always are. My friends kept blowing up my phone (in the best way possible). But what absolutely floored me was when leaders and owners from various real estate development companies here in Dubai started reaching out. I mean, these are busy people, and they took time out of their day just to check on me? That’s not just professional courtesy – that’s genuine human connection, and it honestly moved me more than I can put into words.
Going through something like this really puts things in perspective, doesn’t it? You realize how much you take for granted – like being able to hear properly, or having people who care about you. It’s humbling and beautiful at the same time.
So this is my way of saying thank you. To Dr. Moaz, who literally gave me my hearing back. To every single person at the hospital who made me feel cared for. To my family and friends who never let me feel alone. And to everyone in this amazing Dubai community who showed me what real solidarity looks like.
I’m grateful. Really, truly grateful.
