Pranjali Somase on Building Her Voice — and a Platform — in Dubai’s PR and Media Scene
For Pranjali Somase-Nimbalkar, communication has always been more than just a skill — it’s a way of connecting with the world. Curious by nature and observant by instinct, she grew up drawn to people’s stories and the subtle power of how they’re told. That natural inclination to listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and spot the story behind the surface eventually led her to pursue a career in media and public relations.
Her path hasn’t been linear, but it’s been intentional — shaped by international education, a strong foundation in PR, and a deep belief in the power of authenticity over noise.
A Perspective-Shaped Career

Pranjali’s journey into media was strengthened by both local and global exposure. After completing her postgraduate studies in the UK, she brought with her a broadened understanding of communication across cultures. Combined with four years of hands-on PR experience in India, she had already built a strong foundation in brand strategy, media relations, and storytelling.
But transitioning into Dubai’s fast-moving, highly competitive PR industry came with its own set of challenges.
“Breaking into PR in a new market — especially one as dynamic as the UAE — wasn’t easy,” she reflects. “I had the experience, but no local network or understanding of how things worked here. I had to start from the ground up.”
That unfamiliarity didn’t slow her down. She immersed herself in Dubai’s media landscape, stayed open to learning, and let her work speak for itself. “What helped me most was being genuinely curious — always wanting to understand how things work and how to make them better.”
The DXB Podcast: A Practical Platform with Purpose
One of Pranjali’s most personal projects is The DXB Podcast. While still in its early stages, the podcast isn’t about celebrity interviews or polished success stories — it’s a grounded, helpful guide for those moving to or living in Dubai. From navigating job hunting and cultural nuances to adjusting to the lifestyle, the podcast provides honest, experience-based content for people looking to find their footing in the city.
“I started the podcast because I couldn’t find anything that felt real and relatable about everyday life in Dubai,” she says. “I wanted to create a space that felt like a conversation with a friend — not advice from someone pretending to have it all figured out.”
As the platform grows, she plans to expand into more community-led content and potentially feature other voices. But for now, it remains her own way of giving back and creating something grounded in real-life experience.
Growing in the UAE’s PR Scene
Today, Pranjali works with PIXL Global, a Dubai-based Marketing agency that puts her at the heart of brand communications, media strategy, and thought leadership. Her role allows her to apply both her International experience and her UAE insight — blending deep understanding with fresh perspective.
“PR here isn’t just about coverage; it’s about credibility and timing,” she says. “Dubai moves fast, and staying relevant requires clarity, consistency, and creativity.”
She’s also deeply invested in growing beyond the desk — regularly participating in community events, building connections, and staying current with digital storytelling trends.
Looking Ahead: Authentic Growth, Not Just Expansion
Rather than focusing on job titles or traditional milestones, Pranjali is building toward something more personal: launching her business. One where brands — and people — are encouraged to communicate with clarity, intention, and heart.
“I want to help brands tell stories that feel real — not just marketable,” she says. “And I want to create space for young professionals to feel seen and supported as they grow.”
She often reminds those around her that success doesn’t always look like a viral campaign or a high-profile client. “Sometimes it’s just about showing up, staying honest, and doing the work. That consistency is what moves you forward.”
The Story Behind the Stories
Pranjali’s career so far is defined not by overnight wins, but by showing up day after day — learning, experimenting, and trusting the process. It’s the story of someone building something real, piece by piece, in one of the most competitive media environments in the world.
In a city full of bold headlines and bigger personalities, her voice is thoughtful, steady, and needed — helping others not just be seen, but understood.Do follow her on Instagram.
