After completing his O Levels, Mohin made a bold decision — to join his father full-time. But times were tough. The economy was unstable, and government policies in their home country made business operations challenging.

In a bid to support his father and test his entrepreneurial spirit, Mohin started a small venture supplying cheese rolls to local cafés. The business was a family affair — his mother, who had completed a professional course in making cheese rolls, prepared them daily. Mohin and his younger brother handled deliveries.

It might seem like a modest operation now, but at the time, every sale counted. “A single cheese roll cost as much as a full two-course meal for someone less fortunate,” Mohin recalls.

Though the venture didn’t succeed in the long run, it taught him priceless lessons about perseverance, risk-taking, and the importance of family support.

A Heartbreaking Loss That Changed Everything

Perhaps the most defining moment in Mohin’s early life came with the sudden death of his father. Mohin, who had grown resentful of his father’s tough training methods, soon realized those lessons were meant to prepare him for a future without his guidance.

His father’s passing left a void both personally and professionally. But the wisdom he had instilled in Mohin would remain forever.

“To this day, not a moment goes by without me remembering his wisdom, his resilience, and the invaluable lessons he passed on,” Mohin says.
