Andres Iniesta Joins UAE National Day Celebrations in Traditional Attire

Andres Iniesta, a Spanish football legend, celebrated the 52nd UAE National Day spirit by sporting a traditional Emirati kandura.

Spanish football legend Andres Iniesta, currently playing for Ras Al Khaimah’s Emirate Club, embraced the 52nd UAE National Day spirit by donning a traditional Emirati kandura.

The iconic former Barcelona and Spanish midfielder showcased his cultural appreciation by modeling the ankle-length garment and a ghutra on social media, as the Emirates Football Club shared.

Surprise Move to Emirate Club:

Iniesta surprised the football community when he signed a one-year contract with Ras Al Khaimah’s Emirate Club in August 2023, transitioning from his illustrious career in Barcelona. The move marked his presence in the Adnoc UAE Pro League.

Traditional Emirati Attire:

In the celebratory posts on Instagram, Iniesta exchanged his trademark No. 8 football jersey for the iconic milk-white kandura, also known as a Dishdasha, representing the traditional clothing of Emirati men.

Completing the traditional look, he wore a ghutra covering his head and even sported an Arabic Bisht coat, an embroidered black robe symbolic of special occasions in Arab culture.

On-Field Contributions:

Having played in eight matches for the Emirates Club, Iniesta has made a notable impact by scoring two goals.

His upcoming game against Shabab Al-Ahli on December 8 promises to be another exciting chapter in his UAE football journey.
