Dubai, UAE – January 23, 2025 – Legendary Tour de France champions are set to headline the inaugural L’Étape Dubai by Tour de France powered by Škoda, taking place on 1–2 February 2025. Former Tour de France stage winners Ján Svorada and Peter Velits will lead the race festivities, bringing world-class cycling energy to Dubai in what is poised to become one of the most iconic cycling events in the region.
The announcement was made today during a press conference in Dubai, highlighting the emirate’s growing status as a premier global sports destination. Svorada and Velits will also participate in the pre-event build-up, offering local fans the chance to meet their heroes and ride alongside them during community events.
L’Étape Dubai will feature two routes to suit all levels of cyclists:

- The Race (101km) – For seasoned cyclists seeking a competitive challenge.
- The Ride (50km) – For enthusiasts aiming for a memorable experience.
Both courses will start from Dubai Design District (D3) and finish at Expo Village, showcasing Dubai’s striking cityscape and desert beauty. Two Škoda-sponsored sprint sections and a short climb will give riders a chance to compete for the prestigious Škoda Green Jersey.
The lead-up to race day includes free “Welcome Dubai Rides” from 29–31 January at Al Qudra and Nad Al Sheba cycle tracks, inviting both newcomers and veteran cyclists to experience Dubai’s vibrant cycling scene.
On 31 January, the Tour de France Village opens at Expo Village Park, offering interactive exhibits, legendary jersey displays, family-friendly entertainment, a Kids’ Race, 20km Family Ride, and much more. Registration is open now via the official event website:
