Abu Dhabi police have achieved a significant breakthrough in their relentless battle against drug trafficking. They apprehended two individuals found in possession of five kilograms of cocaine, intending to distribute the narcotics within the country.

The arrest of these two men, hailing from diverse backgrounds, has dealt a major blow to an active international drug syndicate that has been targeting Middle Eastern nations to trade narcotics and foster negative societal impacts.

Major Tahir Gharib Al-Zahri, Director of the Anti-Drugs Directorate in the Criminal Security Sector of Abu Dhabi Police, credited the successful operation to proactive surveillance, intelligence gathering, and the strategic implementation of a court security plan. 

The authorities closely monitored the movements of the suspects, leading to their eventual apprehension and the confiscation of the illicit drugs in their possession.
