Veteran Telugu Actor Chandra Mohan Passes Away at 82

Following a heart arrest, actor Chandra Mohan, 82, died on Saturday morning in Hyderabad's Apollo Hospital.

Renowned Telugu actor Chandra Mohan, aged 82, breathed his last on Saturday morning at Hyderabad’s Apollo Hospital following a cardiac arrest. 

His death has sent shockwaves through the Telugu film industry, where he had left an enduring legacy.

Final Farewell Scheduled for November 13:

Chandra Mohan’s final farewell and last rites are set to take place in Hyderabad on November 13, as confirmed by Jagan, the public relations officer of Apollo Hospital.

Born on May 23, 1943, in Pamidimukkala village, Andhra Pradesh, Mallampalli Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly known as Chandra Mohan, marked his entry into the Telugu film industry in 1966 with ‘Rangula Ratnam.’ 

His performance in the film earned the Nandi Award for Best Actor from the state government.

Chandra Mohan’s illustrious career included memorable roles in iconic films such as ‘Shankarabharanam,’ ‘Seethaamalakshmi,’ ‘Padaharella Vayasu,’ ‘Siri Siri Muvva,’ and ‘Chandamama Raave.’ His versatility and acting prowess garnered him widespread acclaim.

Throughout his career, Chandra Mohan received two Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award South, showcasing his excellence in the field of acting. 

His contributions to Telugu cinema were significant in terms of performances and in shaping the industry’s narrative.

Chandra Mohan’s legacy extended beyond his achievements; he was the cousin of the acclaimed director and Dada Sahab Phalke award winner, K Vishwanath. His influence and contributions will be remembered by generations in the Telugu film fraternity.

Chandra Mohan is survived by his wife, Jalandhara, and two daughters. His passing marks the end of an era in Telugu cinema, leaving behind a void that fans and the film industry alike will deeply feel.
