India sends 32 tonnes disaster relief material for Gaza

On Sunday, India transported 38.5 tonnes of humanitarian goods to Egypt's Sinai region for Palestinian civilians fleeing the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to the foreign ministry, India flew 38.5 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Egypt’s Sinai region on Sunday for Palestinian civilians from the Gaza Strip.

According to Arindam Bagchi, a foreign ministry spokesman, an Indian Air Force Boeing C-17 transport plane “carrying nearly 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material for the people of Palestine” departed for Egypt’s El Arish airport.

Arindam Bagchi on a facebook post:

“The material includes essential life-saving medicines, surgical items, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, sanitary utilities, and water purification tablets, among other necessary items,” Bagchi said in a Facebook post.

Israel and Hamas, the Islamist terrorist movement that administers the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, home to 2.4 million people, went to war two weeks ago.

As the Israeli sources state:

According to Israeli sources, Israel’s military has blasted Gaza with continuous assaults in reaction to Hamas’s brutal October 7 attack, in which militants killed at least 1,400 Palestinians, mostly civilians who were shot, maimed, or burned to death.

According to the Hamas-run health ministry, the bombing has killed over 4,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and reduced large swaths of the densely inhabited territory to smoking rubble.

India condemned Hamas for the “terrorist attack” but reaffirmed its long-held support for an independent Palestinian state.

Food, water, and medicine crossed the border:

Israel has consistently advised the 1.1 million Palestinians in Gaza’s north to go south before any ground attack.

Food, water, and medicine crossed the border from Egypt into Gaza on Saturday despite US pressure.

Despite the arrival of 20 trucks in Palestinian territory on Saturday, the Hamas government has criticized the paucity of aid. According to the report, the enclave now has 1.4 million displaced persons.
