Gina Hosny’s story is one of courage, resilience, and a deep connection to nature. From an early age, she was shaped by powerful lessons from her father, who taught her empathy, kindness, and the importance of choosing the hardest path in life, Believing that the strongest people are those who have made mistakes and learned from them. These lessons became the foundation of her career and life philosophy.
Raised as a synchronized swimming athlete, Gina grew up surrounded by water, sun, and open spaces. Nature was her playground and sanctuary. But as she stepped into the fast-paced corporate world, she noticed a growing disconnect. People were living life as a performance, caught indoors and stressed, chasing appearances instead of real moments. This contrast inspired her to bring people back to basics, to the healing power of nature.
This vision led Gina to found Rays & Rocks, the first outdoor lifestyle brand in the Middle East. More than just a brand, Rays & Rocks is a movement encouraging everyone to slow down and enjoy real moments outdoors. It aims to support people through all kinds of outdoor adventures and everyday sunny moments with simple, eco-friendly products designed for easy, on-the-go use and made to create a life outdoors.
From Biotechnology to People and Culture to Entrepreneur
Gina’s path to entrepreneurship was unique. Academically studied pharmacy and biotechnology, her professional life took a different turn when she moved into People and Culture leadership. Working across diverse industries locally & regionally, she connected deeply with people and understood how organizations truly function.
Despite her steady climb up the corporate ladder, Gina felt a pull toward something more purposeful and meaningful. This curiosity pushed her to study entrepreneurial marketing and small business operations at Harvard, bridging her corporate experience with her passion for natural, simple living.
Her entrepreneurial journey was not without risk. Leaving a successful corporate career to start something new required courage and resilience, qualities she had nurtured since childhood. Gina says she had to learn to be patient and persistent. Those traits helped her build Rays & Rocks from the ground up.

Rays & Rocks stands out because it is not just about developing products & selling them. It is about creating a life outdoors. She explained that “ At Rays & Rocks, we don’t just create eco-conscious products, we live the life we’re designing for. Her vision for Rays & Rocks as an employer is unique. Gina explains that Rays & Rocks is a purpose-driven brand that believes in doing good while living well. Gina explained that the brand exists for a purpose, where each product is derived from natural sources embracing the world around us & to leave you committed to the brand values. Gina believes these values reflect her father’s teachings, that real success is about lifting others along the way and creating impact.
She further explained that even the brand packaging tells a story of mindful living. Where turning Cartoon into thoughtfully designed push-gently packs, simple, functional, and eco-conscious. Each pack is made to be reused, recycled, or repurposed, reflecting the brand belief that sustainable living starts with small, intentional choices that make a lasting impact.
