Darina Fedorova’s path to acting is not marked by a single defining moment. “Honestly, it is impossible to find that moment,” she says with certainty. “Actors are born. Yes, you can learn skills, but the most important thing is your soul.”
From a very young age, Darina found joy in performing. She loved putting on street plays with friends, filming her own stories, and imagining herself as different characters. “Some people think I act all the time in real life,” she laughs. “But that would be wrong. A bad actor uses their craft offstage. I am a very emotional person—I feel things deeply. I would be uncomfortable in any other profession.”
Inspired by Cinema’s Greatest
Darina’s love for acting grew from watching classic films featuring iconic actors. Charlie Chaplin’s silent genius, Audrey Hepburn’s elegance, Greta Garbo’s mystery, Elizabeth Taylor’s charm, and Marlene Dietrich’s charisma all shaped her early love for the craft.
She was also deeply influenced by legendary Soviet actors—Lyudmila Gurchenko, Andrei Mironov, Oleg Yankovsky, and Leonid Kuravlyov.
“I was not just watching movies,” she explains. “I was studying the actors—their expressions, emotions, the way they moved. I loved copying them. It inspired me more each time.”

A Stroke of Luck at Moscow’s Leading Theater
One of Darina’s proudest milestones was joining a top theater in Moscow. “I think it was pure luck,” she says modestly. “Getting hired there means you are really a master. Only a few make it.”
Her first role was both unusual and challenging—playing a Russian army officer in War and Peace, a role traditionally given to men.
“Only men were invited to audition,” she recalls. “But I hid my hair under a headdress, practiced walking like a man, and learned to handle a 19th-century weapon. I was nervous, but thrilled when they accepted me. That was the start of my theater journey.”
From Extra to Professional Actress — And a New Life in the UAE
Darina began her career with small roles in films and TV. “I started as an extra,” she says. “Then I saved money to go to drama school. I prepared for only one month and was scared I would fail.”
To her surprise, she passed all three rounds of auditions and continued acting in film and TV alongside her training.
But her biggest life change came three years ago.
Darina left the theater in Moscow and moved permanently to the UAE — a decision that opened the door to international opportunities. Since relocating, she has filmed for projects in the UAE, France, America, China, India, Pakistan, and Russia. She has also begun her career as an acting coach in the UAE.
In the Emirates, Darina has been part of major productions, including:
• Dubizzle
• Dubai Aquarium (featured in Dubai Mall)
• TV series “One Wife Is Not Enough”
• TV series “يت_أبونا”
• SeaWorld projects
• The 52nd UAE National Day
She is deeply proud to contribute to work that represents the UAE on a national level.
A Unique Twist — Acting Coach for Models
With 15 years of modeling experience—fashion shows, commercials, photo shoots—Darina noticed that models often need specific emotional and physical control for their performances.
“Models must empathize with partners, control emotions, and move with intention. This is especially important in commercials.”
Instead of teaching a full acting curriculum, she developed custom exercises designed specifically for models. “If they do not want to act in films, they do not need everything. I teach what helps them in their profession.”
She is now developing her own acting method for models, with plans to turn it into a book or a series of tutorials.
Facing Challenges With Strength and Patience
Darina’s journey has had its challenges. “There have been wins and losses,” she says. “But defeat is not a loss—it is an experience.”
She encourages actors to avoid comparisons.
“If a role is for a banana, and you are an apple—a shiny, beautiful apple—you will not be a banana. Your time will come.”
Connections can help, she admits, but talent and persistence matter more. “If you keep improving, you will be noticed.”
Believing in Yourself and Staying Real
Darina’s message is simple: believe in yourself without slipping into overconfidence.
“On social media, I show that you must keep working on yourself—your acting, your communication, your appearance, your personal growth.”
She emphasizes authenticity.
“You do not need to invent yourself. You were born unique—that is your greatest asset.”
Working with children has been especially rewarding. “Every child is bright and special. It’s amazing to teach children acting.”
Looking Ahead
Darina does not focus on fame or recognition. “I just live for acting and try to make my contribution,” she says.
Right now, her main goal is to perfect her acting technique for models and help them become more expressive and confident. “This is only the beginning,” she adds. “I have many ideas for the future.”
Believe in Yourself — Darina’s Final Advice
Her final message is filled with warmth and conviction:
“Believe in yourself! Do not listen to those who doubt you. There is only you and your self-confidence. Listen to your inner voice, your heart, and your soul—they are your best friends!”
