Dina Tarek El-Mosalami is not just a name in the fashion world. She is a force of transformation. As the co-founder and leader behind Pepla, a global modest fashion brand, Dina has set out to challenge conventional standards of beauty and empower women through style, confidence, and purpose.
A Childhood Built on Confidence and Love
Dina often reflects on how her upbringing shaped her future. “I remember well that my dad’s love gave me confidence as a little girl. In that sense, a girl grows up with a sense of security. She’s more gutsy when her dad has her back,” she shares. This foundation of love and support helped Dina develop a fearless approach to life, a quality she carries into her role as a business leader today.
Growing up, Dina always felt she was meant to lead. “I’ve always felt that I was a born-leader. This is a feeling I grew up with. I feel capable to create a change in the world,” she explains. While her dream of healing people like a doctor remained unfulfilled, she found another way to make an impact through the fashion industry.

Changing the Fashion Narrative
Dina observed how the fashion industry often placed unrealistic expectations on women, focusing more on appearance than individuality or intelligence. “I think this industry has abused women for far too long under the umbrella of ‘looking pretty’. If a leader came along and was a strong enough businesswoman, she could change the game,” she notes.
With Pepla, Dina’s goal is to redefine beauty as something that stems from the mind, character, and confidence, not just physical appearance. Through her brand, she creates fashion that allows women to feel stylish and empowered while staying true to their values.

The Birth of Pepla
Dina and her sister realized that the market lacked modest yet fashionable clothing that appealed to women of all backgrounds. “We wanted to wear clothes that are trendy but more modest. Since the big fashion labels didn’t cater to our needs, we decided to build one of our own,” Dina explains.
From its inception, Pepla became more than a clothing brand. It was a platform for women to celebrate themselves and live with purpose. The brand actively promotes the message that being fashionable and modest can coexist while encouraging women to pursue meaningful goals.
Learning Through Challenges
The journey to establishing Pepla was not easy. Dina emphasizes that real entrepreneurship starts without easy access to capital. “Any real entrepreneur doesn’t start out with money. They start by learning the ropes around a business model. Learning and executing is super hard only the best survive this phase,” she says.
Through trial and error, perseverance, and dedication, Dina and her team built Pepla into a respected brand. She emphasizes resilience as a key factor in success. “To stand and say alhamdolilah for every loss and every challenge even if you don’t feel it with your heart. Say it with your tongue and the feelings will follow,” she advises.
Balancing Family and Work
Despite her professional success, Dina Tarek El-Mosalami’s pride lies not only in Pepla but in her family. “My biggest achievement is in my kids not in Pepla. Pepla is something I put so much effort and pride in but I’d be silly if I identified myself only with my work. I’m proud of my Islam and my family. Those are the things I’m more emotionally attached to,” she shares.
Dina candidly talks about the sacrifices required to run a large business while maintaining a family life. “Brace yourself. It’s a wild ride. And just know that if you plan to have a large company you won’t live a relaxed life. Choose it intentionally. I chose it and I don’t regret it. But just know you won’t ever be that woman who gets to have brunch out with her girlfriends on a Tuesday. If you work and have a family you need to be super efficient and super structured as a person,” Dina admits.
Vision for Global Impact
Dina’s ambitions extend far beyond her home country. She dreams of building a supply chain in Turkey to serve the global market. “I want Pepla to be global and that is a BIG challenge. But that’s always been me I go big or go home,” she says.
Her long-term vision is not just about selling clothes. It is about inspiring women everywhere to embrace self-worth, confidence, and independence. Dina believes that one strong leader can shift entire industries and societal perceptions. Through Pepla, she shows that women can create, lead, and succeed without compromising their values or integrity.
Redefining Success
For Dina, success is measured in more than profits and brand recognition. It is about the impact on her family, her community, and the lives of women who follow her message. “I don’t really need much to be remembered. I’m Muslim. I believe in Jannah. That’s about it,” she says humbly, emphasizing faith as the true anchor of her life.
She stresses the importance of gratitude. Whether facing challenges or celebrating wins, Dina maintains a positive outlook. “When I find myself too attached to work I remind myself that it could all blow up and I would have to stand and still thank God for that experience,” she says.
Leadership with Purpose
Dina’s leadership philosophy is clear: empower others, lead by example, and take calculated risks. She believes in cultivating confidence in the next generation of women while staying grounded in her values. “It needs a successful businesswoman, one leader to show that beauty is in the attractiveness of the mind not in showcasing your body. I strive to lead the way for this change,” she asserts.
Her journey highlights the balance between ambition and responsibility, personal fulfillment, and societal impact. She shows that a woman can pursue big dreams, run a successful business, and remain devoted to family and faith all at once.
Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Dina offers practical advice for anyone pursuing entrepreneurship. She emphasizes preparation, resilience, and self-discipline. “If you plan to have a large company you must choose it intentionally. Efficiency, structure, and focus are essential. You won’t have the luxury of a relaxed lifestyle, but the rewards personal growth, impact, and fulfillment are worth it,” she advises.
Her words serve as inspiration for women who aim to break barriers in business, leadership, and creative industries. By combining vision, faith, and courage, Dina demonstrates that challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth and success.
