In a humanitarian gesture, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has taken action to alleviate the plight of flood-stricken Libya. On Friday, he issued orders for the dispatch of a significant aid package weighing 90 tonnes to assist the affected population.
Ongoing Relief Efforts
This marks the third consignment of relief aid within the span of three weeks dispatched from Dubai’s International Humanitarian City to Benghazi, Libya. The aid mission is part of an ongoing commitment to aid those impacted by the devastating consequences of Storm Daniel.
Airlift of Assistance
Early on Friday morning, a Boeing 747 aircraft departed from Dubai World Central Airport, laden with more than 90 tonnes of essential aid.
The assistance includes vital shelter materials, kitchen sets, blankets, jerricans, and other essential relief items.
These supplies have been generously provided by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
