Dubai Customs is gearing up for Ramadan with a series of community initiatives, including the distribution of 30,000 meals across the emirate. As part of its commitment to social responsibility, the department has unveiled a total of 11 diverse projects aimed at fostering solidarity and support during the holy month.
The initiatives encompass a wide range of charitable efforts, spanning from organizing suhoor gatherings for clients to hosting collective iftars for new Muslims in collaboration with the Islamic Information Centre. Additionally, Dubai Customs will arrange religious lectures throughout Ramadan, further enriching the spiritual experience for residents.
A hallmark of Dubai Customs’ Ramadan events is its inclusivity, with activities tailored to benefit various segments of society. From distributing iftar meals to road users to extending support to elderly citizens in collaboration with Dhakar Club, the initiatives aim to promote dialogue and honor the invaluable contributions of community members.
Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department at Dubai Customs, emphasized the department’s strategic commitment to supporting community initiatives. With a remarkable track record of executing 175 initiatives over the past year, benefiting 238,000 individuals, Dubai Customs continues to lead by example in fostering a culture of benevolence and social responsibility.
Aster DM Healthcare Collaborates with Dubai Police to Distribute Iftar Kits
In a separate initiative, Dubai-based Aster DM Healthcare has teamed up with Dubai Police to distribute iftar kits to motorists across the UAE during Ramadan. This marks the fifth year of the campaign, which aims to provide essential sustenance to individuals stuck in traffic while breaking their fast.
More than 300 volunteers, including Aster Volunteers and community members, will be stationed at 13 locations across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman to distribute 150,000 iftar boxes over 30 days. Each box contains a packet of dates, water, a cake, and juice, offering much-needed relief to motorists during the evening rush hour.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue the collaboration with Dubai Police. He highlighted the importance of enabling people to break their fast on time, particularly during peak commute hours, and reiterated the positive impact of the initiative on community members.
Brigadier Juma Khalfan Bin Suhail Almheiri, Deputy Director of the Al Raffa Police Station, lauded the collaboration with Aster DM Healthcare, emphasizing its significance in fostering compassion and solidarity among citizens and residents during Ramadan.
Last year, the campaign distributed 117,000 iftar boxes, significantly impacting the lives of commuters across the UAE. This year’s increased distribution reflects the growing support for the noble cause, underscoring the unwavering commitment of Aster DM Healthcare and community volunteers to serve the community during Ramadan.
