In Dubai’s vibrant creative landscape, Abbas Abbas has emerged as a visionary photographer and filmmaker whose cinematic portraits blend raw emotion, deep narratives, and striking aesthetics. His work goes beyond capturing images — it tells stories that resonate, inspire, and challenge conventions.
From humble beginnings, long nights of experimentation, and countless rejections, Abbas rose to become one of the most in-demand visual storytellers in the UAE.
Three Shoots That Changed Everything
“One of the most defining moments in my career came from three shoots that brought a new vibe to Dubai,” Abbas recalls.

- A powerful portrait series of twins, symbolizing the emotional journey of leaving home and starting anew.
- A breathtaking shot of a violinist playing amidst crashing waves.
- The world-exclusive capture of the one-of-one Mercedes EQXX.
These weren’t just photoshoots — they were cinematic stories frozen in time, setting Abbas apart in a region that had yet to embrace such a style.

From Winning Competitions to Working with Mercedes Benz
Abbas’s love for the lens began early. At 14, he entered a photography competition and won his first camera — a moment that ignited a lifelong passion. With a family background in art and photography, he pursued a diploma in Graphic Design, a Bachelor’s in Filmmaking, and a Master’s in Cinematography, graduating with the highest score in his university’s decade-long history.
Over the years, Abbas has created dozens of short films and won more than 30 awards at international film festivals.
**My portfolio includes collaborations with prestigious clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Nissan Middle East, Audi, Volkswagen, McLaren, BMW, Rolls-Royce, Mansory, Geely, and many other renowned automotive brands. Beyond the automotive sector, I have worked on high-profile fashion shoots and editorial features for leading publications, including Sayidati Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, and Victor Magazine, capturing notable personalities such as Hassan Abu Al Rous, Tamara Mrad, and others.
In addition, I have been honored to work on significant government-related projects, which have been a profound source of inspiration, reflecting the vision, growth, and progressive mindset of the UAE. These include major assignments with Masdar, Bee’ah, and the Fujairah Horse Beauty Championship under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, as well as projects associated with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, during the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) World Congress in Dubai.**
Dubai: A City of Dreams and Challenges
Moving to Dubai was far from easy. “The first year was really tough,” Abbas admits. “I had no connections, and my style was unfamiliar to the market.” But persistence paid off — soon, brands began approaching him specifically for his unique visual language.
Winning on the Global Stage
Abbas has won seven major filmmaking awards and been featured in over 16 international film festivals, cementing his place as a world-class visual artist. “Storytelling is universal. It connects us all,” he says.

Why Passion Still Drives Him Today
Early in his career, Abbas introduced cinematic photography in his home country and later brought the same innovation to Dubai. “Photography is more than aesthetics — it’s about emotion, connection, and impact,” he says.
A Vision That Stands Apart
Abbas’s fearless approach favors authenticity over heavy retouching. “When everything looks too perfect, you lose the soul,” he explains. His work is now so distinct that it’s often recognized before his name is seen.
Advice for Aspiring Creators
“Step out of your comfort zone,” Abbas advises. “Talent is nothing without dedication, experimentation, and resilience. Don’t fear failure — it shapes you.” He cautions against obsession with gear, emphasizing knowledge, practice, and passion instead.
What’s Next
Abbas is expanding his portfolio of cinematic visuals with the aim of making a greater regional and global impact. “My goal is to leave a lasting artistic legacy,” he says. And from the looks of it, he’s well on his way.
