Fitness Coach Yassmine Cherni’s Inspiring Rise from Tunisia to Kuwait

Yassmine Cherni

Yassmine Cherni never imagined that her childhood passion for sports would one day turn into a meaningful career. Growing up in Tunisia, sports were simply something she loved not something she believed could define her future. But with encouragement from her father and a heart full of ambition, Yassmine took a bold step. She studied for nine years to become a physical education teacher, setting the foundation for a powerful journey in the world of fitness.

Her early years in Tunisia were filled with learning and growth. While others saw sports as a hobby, Yassmine believed it could be much more. “I knew I wanted to make a difference,” she says. “Fitness was my way of connecting with people and helping them change their lives.”

But the turning point in her journey came when she began working with people of determination. These were individuals with disabilities, and though they spoke different languages and came from different backgrounds, Yassmine found a powerful connection with them through movement. “We could not speak the same language, but sports became our way to communicate,” she recalls. “That experience changed me completely. I saw how deep and emotional fitness could be.”

Building a Career from Passion

What started as passion grew into a profession. Yassmine began working as a fitness trainer in Tunisia, driven by a vision of creating more inclusive and empowering fitness spaces. However, building a career in sports was not easy. She had to overcome stereotypes, especially the belief that sports was not a serious career path.

Determined to grow, she made a bold decision to move to Kuwait. This meant starting over in a country where no one knew her, adapting to a new culture, and proving herself from the ground up. “Moving to Kuwait was one of the hardest things I have done,” she says. “I faced language barriers, cultural differences, and had to compete in a community full of strong professionals.”

Despite these challenges, Yassmine pushed forward with focus and resilience. She earned people’s trust, developed her skills, and slowly climbed the ladder. From a newcomer in the gym to becoming a respected team leader, she eventually rose to the position of head coach. Today, she leads a large fitness facility in Kuwait, a place where her passion meets purpose every single day.

Coaching Beyond the Physical

For Yassmine, coaching is not just about weight loss or building muscles. Her philosophy goes much deeper. “Fitness is not only physical. It is mental, emotional, and even spiritual,” she explains. “It is about helping people believe in themselves, heal through movement, and feel strong in their own skin.”

As head coach, Yassmine creates an environment where clients feel seen, valued, and motivated. Her sessions are designed to promote self-love, discipline, and confidence. She believes that fitness can transform lives in ways far beyond the gym. “What inspires me most is how sport connects people,” she says. “It helps people find inner peace and self-worth.”

Her leadership is also rooted in self-growth. “I have learned not to wait for someone to push me,” she shares. “You must lead yourself first. When you become your own example, others around you grow too.”

Looking to the Future: A Gym of Her Own

Even with all her achievements, Yassmine continues to dream bigger. Her next goal is to open her own gym, a space that reflects her values of empowerment, inclusion, and positivity. “I want to build a gym where everyone feels welcome, no matter their background, age, or body type,” she says.

This vision is not just about equipment and training routines. It is about creating a supportive environment where people feel inspired to start or continue their fitness journey. “I want people to love fitness for more than just the results. I want them to fall in love with the process, with themselves, and with what their bodies can do,” she adds.

Words of Wisdom to Her Younger Self

When asked what advice she would give to her younger self, Yassmine does not hesitate. “Believe in yourself, even when others do not. Be patient, stay consistent, and never stop pushing forward,” she says. “One day, the people who doubted you will be inspired by your strength.”

Yassmine’s story is not just about physical fitness. It is about emotional resilience, leadership, and finding purpose through struggle. She wants to be remembered not only as a coach, but as someone who helped others fall in love with fitness for their mind and soul, not just their body.

A Role Model in Fitness and Life

Through her growing online presence on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, she continues to inspire people across the world. She shares not only workout tips but also personal insights, struggles, and motivations. Her goal is to reach those who feel unseen or unsure and remind them that transformation is always possible.

In a world that often values appearances, Yassmine champions the deeper meaning of fitness confidence, connection, and self-worth. Her journey from a young dreamer in Tunisia to a respected coach in Kuwait proves that passion, when guided by purpose, can create real change.
